Project Introduction

Plantlet is a meal planning app that helps users to meet their dietary needs while cooking in a way that focuses on seasonal produce and reducing food waste

Target Audience:

Adults aged 18-26 working/studying full-time living alone or with a partner.

  • Gen Z adults show a strong interest in sustainability around food consumption

  • Gen Z has also demonstrates interest in cooking, despite the presence of busy work scheudles.

  • Existing meal planning apps either focus too strongly on health or lack adequate flexibility

There is a need for an app that helps Gen Z adults manage their food sustainability practices while meeting their dietary needs on a busy schedule.

An attitude survey was sent to the target audience to gauge interest in sustainable food habits and meal planning.

Wireframe Feedback

Semi-structured interviews were held with users as they interacted with the wireframe.

  • Adapt welcome quiz to find what flavors people like

  • Improve the feature of finding recipes that use ingredients on hand

  • Possibly include a community aspect to share recipes

prototype

Following the feedback from the wireframes, the Figma prototype includes a revised onboarding quiz, a streamlined meal planning process, and improved recipe categorizations.
